BTW friends, question for you.

So CHimney rock has been brought into conversation, I'm down to do it but can my hard tail hold up? I know a couple of people who go there but theyre either using FS or Fat bikes. Thoughts?

You should be fine on your bike, just wear a little extra padding on your rear lol.. So we doing CR this weekend? I think we are better off Sunday though, it's supposed to rain Saturday and be cleared up on Sunday.

I would like to do CR Sunday, but @freshmtb wants to wait until mid-October...

You guys can do CR on Sunday, I'm going to 6mR with my Kool Aid!

Well if you do 6M on Saturday your kool aid is going to get watered down a bit lol

No haha, I'm doing Sunday. Last Sunday was the first time i got through 6mR without falling, going to enjoy that feeling first lol. Because I know it's going to be more painful in CR! I have another half marathon in princeton, gotta be healthy for it!

follow the trail reports here on the ride ability of both this weekend. Rain really messes up 6mr since it's mostly red clay and hard to absorb moisture. CR on the other has lots or rock and some dirt. When it rains, the little bit of dirt soaks it up like a sponge.

lots of guys ride in the mud, but unless its a race, it's best to give the trails some space to recover. When conditions suck balls, try RV if you really need a fix or gasp, take out a road bike. You "beginners" are now part of the njmtb brotherhood, love big bro

Truth!

Eh, if it rains this weekend, I'm sleeping in!

very little rain here in my hood
anyone up for CR on Saturday at 8am? As long as weather agrees for the next 30 hrs

I think we are screwed weather wise, 6M probably won't be ridable till Monday/Tuesday. A few of us are going too try chimney rock Sunday morning, more rock and less mud ;-)
