No I just wash them separately on normal cycle. Air dry. Not used for anything else but the car(s).

Actually there is a separate detergent for MF towels and autogeeks sells them but this is overkill in my opinion.
Been washing my MF towel with Tide for 5 years and they have not exploded.
I would do what @Carson said and keep a nylon brush or an old toothbrush handy to brush the debris out from the towel.
