Again... just an opinion
Your body is just used to riding with no fuel so you don't necessarily feel tired but your legs are weaker.
I'd be interested in some power readings.... but I am willing to bet, your power dwindles down more rapidly when compared to those who eat before the ride.
Frank has a power meter, we should all borrow it for a week and see if we can break it. That Ritchey is a fine bike.
 
This is a very good point, I used to never eat before the rides and my legs used to fatigue much quicker. I started having something small and bringing food with me on rides and it seems to really help. Don't eat anything major just light food so you don't need to deuce and small snacks, I steal my sons fruit leathers. They are only 90 cals but sugar so help out on the ride.
Rides longer than two hours need refueling every hour afterwards. My winter rides tend to be the longest 5-6hrs and I'll bring sufficient Gu and granola bars.

I don't think that's necessary
Altho strava is prolly not that accurate, if you enter your weight into your profile, it will provide how much power you are putting down.
On my road rides, I was easily putting down 200+ watts in the beginning but mid ride, it goes down 180

I actually learned a lesson on granola bars yesterday, either keep them close to the body or don't bring them because they get really hard to chew when they are really cold LOL
