So which brands jumped on super boost so far?

Pivot knolly and thats all I know but I gave up looking for a bike that was super boost till I saw the one above.

It has the original wants 140mm, ht, and does 29/27+. Put on top of that it can go to 4", super boost and has sliding drop outs I can't imagine wanting anything else.

I am having trouble finding a fork that can fit 4" and has 140 travel...

It was interesting that RSD is offering both boost and super boost
Last year, none of the bigger brands were ready to jump on super boost other than Pivot. 142 seems dead.

I think 4" is fatty territory

Hey @ridgehog, what you got going? i could guess, but i'd just show how naive americans are.

90% of the fun is ball busting, the other half is talking about bikes, planning rides, and bailing.

bike strategy is key - and sometimes there actually is a fire. (seriously, Paul's garage went up because of the neighbor,
and set his bikes and car aflame.)

dominating the forum traffic is a major bragging right.

Congrats on 82 miles yesterday. Perfect weather for it. Was having breakfast with a fab 4 group yesterday on the way to my HM ride and they decided to play his in your honor.

I don't like the trend of things going out of style so quickly. It makes it hard to commit to something but if we follow what has happened 148 will go away like 142. 157 should hold up for a while since DH bikes have gone with that for some time. If they keep the trend going bikes will just get dirt bike wide. They'll just turn their attention to gear boxes, which is basically a price range I won't consider.

If I can get a bike that does double duty than I can spend a little more on components. If it sucks as a fat bike then I'll consider getting a frame. But at least going 157 sets me up to get a balling fs frame

I think it was Trek, last year, that did not want to commit to super boost for the exact reason. Too soon for a new standard.

I'm hoping that by next year 157 becomes common enough that all the 148 stuff is discounted and I can build a perfectly awesome bike for less.

Edit: by "build" I mean "buy a complete bike" I cant even decise on 1 front tire right now. It'll take me conservatively 7 years to make decisions on all the parts needed to build a bike up.

Just to add they are running out of names and Akira Toriyama will sue since it's starting to copy his naming convention in a certain tv show.
 
What's the point of "super boost"? Boost gives flexibility between 29 and 27.5+. I'm going the opposite direction - I want a dedicated fs 29er - some of the options aren't even boost.

Are you concerned with compatibility at all? I figured by the time I can go fs I will drop these wheels on it.

My thoughts exactly but the only thing about super boost.... at least right now is only on the rear.

So they will be the first of the big brands to go 157 or be left behind and just go back to a full 26 line up lol
I wouldn't put money on that... at least not any time soon. They have to make the recoup the money they already spent on boost RD. Maybe they already did... IDK... I doubt the big boys will jump until they are financially satisfied.

Wasn't that the SRAM vs Shimano thing? As after Shimano launched 11spd, SRAM jumped to 12spd.
I thought there were talks of Shimano coming out with 13spd? then they only went 12spd on the XTR with a new hub.
