This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

one of the things i'm tracking it the Princess Cruise - out of the 696(?) cases, 230ish haven't resolved. that is 2 months.
15 are critical. that is a frightening worst case.

What is frightening about it? A cruise ship is a worst-case scenario for transmission. How many were on the ship, over 3000? So about 20% got infected and 80% did not? Also 15 critical is not the least bit surprising considering the ave age of cruisers, especially during school. Let's remember that nearly 50% of the deaths in this country are from one elder care center in Washington.

if you were planning to go to gambling, watch a movie or pump some iron at the gym you're out of luck as of a few minutes ago. For all tri-state area.

Passengers and staff might have been closer to 5,000.
so 14% after 3 weeks of being on the ship together. I guess that isn't bad?
The people were isolated, with crew serving meals to rooms.
I wonder if they clustered to a deck, or kitchen, or server?

anyway:

the rate (time required) of recovery - that is scary.

Don’t forget, they were also breathing recycled air.

15% is similar to large norovirus outbreaks on cruise ships. I wouldn't put much stock on "time to recover". What does that mean? When no virus is present in a patient? And who is keeping track?

i was just thinking about this - without the demographics, it is hard to apply it.

I thought they were tracking this closely as it was "controlled" in the loosely applied sense.
