Sampled the Cromwell trails this morning. For the most part they’re dry and rideable. Some sections had a puddle here and there.
There’s three trails it appears. A pink flashed outer loop that gives you about three miles. And then two interior trails flashed blue and green. I did not ride...
Makes sense. And I fully admit to being stupid—I had been ducking branches all day and knew full well there’s always a low hanger over that first kicker headed toward Middlebush. But I was feeling a bit too good on the bike and now I get a brand new helmet after only 35 days.
Dirt is great today. Be advised the branches are all leaning a bit lower than they were last week. At 6’2” some of them posed a problem for me. One snuck up on me and I boosted one of the little kickers on red near the blue intersection a little too high.
Helmet did it’s job. But that’s an...
I worked at that camp for a bit. It's got tons and tons of potential. Really excited to see everything expand up there.
I grew up in Bridgewater. My family sold portions of the land that the trails are now on around Chimney Rock to the township slowly over the years (we owned a cabin off Miller...
About as good as it gets today. Got out for a quick lap on red and white today, and the weather and dirt were great.
The reroute on red is firming up nicely!
Got out midday rather than the morning. For the most part things were fine. My garmin didn’t pick up the GPS until a mile or so in. But the areas circled had some puddle spots.
The red climb going counterclockwise from Newmans was a bit rough in spots. The access to white from chimney rock rd...
Hiked from the ballfields to the top of yellow this afternoon with the dogs. Conditions looked to be mostly good in that neck of the woods, even with last night's storm. Hoping to head over tomorrow morning before work for a proper ride.
Took a lap on Red today between the concrete bridge and Jacques lane. The conditions were great and dry all around. I recommend red velvet over the standard red between the Jacques lot and the T at the bottom of the hill--that section had the only damp spots.
This was my first ride of the...
Red and Blue were riding very nicely yesterday. Lots of leaves down all over though...it looked like fall in some places particularly on the downhill section toward the end of red.
Were you out yesterday? I was grabbing a quick cliff bar at the red/blue split around 630pm and heard a guy with a timber bell from a ways away--I thought that was such a great idea!
Hit up Walking Purchase today. I was a bit disappointed with how technical and ascent-heavy it was. The route I used from Trailforks only featured one of the enduro stages. That one stage was fantastic and you can tell they work really hard on those segments.
I believe my mistake was my...
For sure! I'm going to check out one of them this weekend and will report back how it goes.
My wife got jealous of my active calories burned counts and picked up a Trek Marlin to ride around with me on the tamer stuff a couple of times a week. We did a short 5 mile loop through White and part...
I just picked up the 830 and have only taken it on a couple of rides. I went with a GPS unit primarily to help me navigate new trail systems without breaking my flow all the time to check my phone map. For that purpose it seems to be getting the job done nicely. As someone mentioned above this...
