    Bike insurance anyone?

I saw that but haven't read the articles for details. If the two were alone, we may never entirely know what happened. I've come close to a head-on with other riders a couple of times on the road. Always DUI riders on the wrong side of the road. Most recent was a year or so ago with a guy...

Tell me where you rode today...

I YouTuber I follow just posted a video about a bike-packing trip she did and there's a shot of that sign.

Tell me where you rode today...

More trail feature removal. The log at the base of the roots is supposed to be across the trail. Looking up the trail: Looking down the trail (typical riding direction):

What beer are you drinking RIGHT NOW?

Something light for TNF... nothing special, but not bad.

    Commuting/blinking lights

If I ever get a Class 3 e-bike, I could definitely see installing something like that.

    Commuting/blinking lights

I generally wear more colorful kit on the road. My Syd & Macky kit is pretty much exclusively worn when road riding. Neon yellow helmet and neon yellow gloves so there's at least some chance my turn signals will be seen.

    2024 Pivot Mach 6

Hmm... keep me in mind when you get the itch to part with that Phoenix... It'd be a moon-shot, but my riding buddy is still into 27.5 bikes and I know he had expressed interest in a Mach 6 before he bought his current Yeti.

    Short Cranks ?

170mm on the Spot (what it came with) 165mm on the Santa Cruz bikes, although I'm planning to get 155 cranks for the Heckler. still 172.5 on the road bikes. I'm sure it varies depending on how sensitive you are, but I've read/heard one of the main benefits of shorter cranks is they reduce the...

    Commuting/blinking lights

Tried it... so it does... I don't use that function for the headlight. Annoys the hell out of me.

    E-bikes are a thing

Why stop there? Make all road bikes require registration and lights. E-bike or otherwise... I'm honestly not 100% against the idea... and it might actually do some good towards drivers' hatred towards road bikers... and maybe it would cause more riders to actually follow road rules...

    Commuting/blinking lights

I have a few rechargeable rear LED lights. I don't really have a preference other than make sure it uses a common USB charging cable as some of the older ones I have use some oddball USB ports. I think all of the newer ones have USB-C ports. For a headlight, I just use one of the Niterider...

Need shop recommendation for possible bumper conversion

Yeah... Oey12 is not wrong... Up to a certain impact level, the parts are meant to be sacrificial. Expensive, perhaps - but at least an impact shouldn't total the vehicle whereas an impact on a heavier bumper directly bolted to the structure of the car is not likely to dissipate the impact...
