medium 2011 giant reign 2 frame

Reigns are great bikes, I know tons of people that ride them back in CA, but from what I've seen out here, it's more bike than needed. Then again, I haven't ridden everything out here yet. Unless you plan on going big more often than not, or a bike that can handle doing some days at the...

    BMX/Pump/Jump tracks near Morristown?

Nice, that's like 20 mins closer. Crazy NJ, let's name a place West Milford that's east of a place called Milford. This a public/JORBA-type thing or private? Any dig days on the schedule?

    BMX/Pump/Jump tracks near Morristown?

So I've searched and the only one I could find is Alexandria Pump Track in Milford. This looks like it's about an hour away from me. Anything closer? An hour sucks, but I can suck it up if the place is worth it. How busy is on the average weekend? How many groms going 1mph will there be...

    clipless vs. platforms

I do. I ride clipless on everything except when I'm shuttling or at a park and on a big bike. It's not that big of a difference if you've got good flats and shoes. The only time I notice is on bad landings if I bounce. Now, if I was climbing steep, rooty or rocky crap with flats I'd...

    Flow Trails

Holy shit, never thought I'd see that name over on this coast. That guy is a staple of hilarity back home. He finally snapped last year and attacked a guy with a handsaw last year on the trails around UC Berkeley. Crazy times. There is even some nutter chick that made an MTBR account...

Pivot Mach 5.7 ..or.. Mach 429?

Plus you can do either 140 or 160 with a quick swap of limbo chips.

    Protest ride irony

Well, considering the government only requires you to wear a DOT approved helmet, which can be nothing more than a brain bucket, I don't think that'll ever happen. And that's only the states that require helmets. I come from an area of the country where a lot of the motorcyclists have a...

    clipless vs. platforms

Just a brand. They started out making climbing shoes and coming up with super sticky tread to keep footing on ascents, which is where I first heard about them. Eventually they moved into MTB and since their soles are super sticky, they're popular with the FR/DH scene. They make shoes for...

    Strava App

Not yet, they say they're working on implementing exporting in various formats. With a Garmin it'll give you turn by turn directions, etc.

    Clipless pedals

I just did the opposite. I've used SPDs since the 90s, just moved to Crank Bros and don't think I'll ever go back. I even want to ditch the Looks on my road bike.

    Strava App

Yeah, it's 5 uploads a month if you use a Garmin, but that number doesn't seem to matter if you use your phone. I've saved dozens of rides from my iphone without Strava bitching at me. Bunch of my friends back home are addicted to this app for the King of the Mountain stuff.
