Going Long and Hard.

Post Endless Recovery Week, so far.

A couple weeks ago I bought a P.3 off the Employee Garage Sale. It came in during the event so I went in early Monday to build it. Rode it the last 2 mornings to reacclimate to riding a weirdo bike. Still sore as shit though.

Was also looking to snag an Epic Evo to have a more playful XC bike, but they’re not available for us to buy. So, I did the next thing to do and ordered everything to convert my Scalpel into an SE, which is the Cannondale version of the Evo. Except I wanted to keep the dual lockout so I can XC when I have to.

I also get to get rid of the sketchy Stan’s Crest wheels that I’ve seriously been wanting to replace. They suck so bad.

Fun day of goofing around and eating snacks. It was kinda wet for a lot of the day but only actually rained for an hour or so. Saw tons of folks out. Coming back into NYC through the Bronx was definitely an adventure.

Can’t do the actual event because I have VIP Tickets for Dream Theater!! Glad they’re doing a Fall leg of this Tour so my 30+ year streak stays intact 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I should bring my Majesty to have John sign it. That would be so dope.

Winter is coming!

Quick question Jim: I’m considering going N+1 and purchasing a FatBike. I would only ride it when winter biking conditions get unfriendly and studded fat tires on some towpath seems like the way to go. As a bonus the ability to rig it up for bikepacking on quad-trails too rough for my Cutthroat would be great.

Any specific bikes that you think I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance W

It’s hard to beat the humble Salsa MuKluk. Won’t break the bank and will cover anything you want to do and then some.

We have a couple in Madison I think.
