Mahlon Dickerson Reservation Conditions

Found a few on a (fun) ride today. I was not equipped with a chainsaw though. We also did a few other smaller hand saw outs. The images are not in order. The big mess is on cascade/purple. The other two are smaller.

I took these ober a week ago and forgot to post them. The trees were still there on Saturday so i get to use my pictures. Lol. There is also a tree down on Black magic somewhere in the middle of it. No picture of it though. I was in survival mode there.😉

Was on tiger blood today and discovered these “mark out” paint marks on the trees and rocks …. Any idea?

Found a few down in Mahlon today. Two close together on the green tail on the non Saffin side, and another smaller but face high one on the return trail down by the lower pond on the Saffin side

I did a loop at Mahlon yesterday. Here are the down trees i found. The big one on stonegate is still there as well. There is also a large tree down on the trail by the mine shaft/former trash dump site near Weldon rd off of red trail. That one has been there for at least a year.

Cleared the ones on Stonegate and Ghost late afternoon today but not the ones in the WMA. Thanks for the report.

FYI the one by mineshaft is technically a closed trail so not sawing there.

I wasn’t aware about the mineshaft trail. Thanks for letting me know. And thanks for clearing the trees!

Hello!
I was out at Mahlon yesterday from the park and ride. There's a tree down across sunset / more fun this way. See photo.

Then also there are a pair of smaller trees down across blue crescent but I didnt take a photo. It's toward the top in the good part right when you pick up speed if you are going down it towards sunset. One could get over it with some commitment but it could cost ya.

Otherwise the trails were 100% rideable with frozen grippy snow. We had some messy stuff overnight so it might be slick now.

My route was the WMA side out columbo's to the main lot. Took yellow, went reverse yellow re-route then back up yellow over to the mine across the street and down BLUE (now red) then back over to the WMA and out crescent. It was all in good shape!
