Why did you switch? May be add glove linersBumping this for suggestions. What's everyone currently using? No gravel or road bikes, only mtbs that get ridden on all surfaces.
Morning dawn patrol ride Tues (32deg) and today (27deg), my fingers got cold. This morning, had a hard time opening the garage door when done because fingers were so numb. Have 2 pairs of winter gloves, took both with me today and switched a few times during the ride.
Started with these, new back in Jan '25. https://www.gorewear.com/us/en-us/windstopper-thermo-split-gloves-100656?variant=2664

Then switched to these during the ride. A few years old, basically look like this. https://www.beachwoodbikes.com/product/pearl-izumi-elite-softshell-gloves-200752-1.htm

I added the lobster Evo PIs to my arsenal last year, worked very well. They have a full-on lobster version as well, but I like having some finger dexterityMy hands were cold in the Gorewear pair, so swapped to the P.I. to see if they were warmer. Not interested in adding a liner.
Thanks. Looking at the reviews, they're all over the place with "warmest glove ever", "works 10deg - 40deg", to "fingers were cold in 10min."I added the lobster Evo PIs to my arsenal last year, worked very well. They have a full-on lobster version as well, but I like having some finger dexterity

AmFIB® Lobster Evo Gloves
Spawned from rugged Colorado winters, the Lobster Evo gloves combine mitten-level warmth with fingertip control through a clever split finger design. Ideal for sub‑30 °F winter rides, they offer the heat of a mitten with the precision of a glove. The design splits the index and middle fingers...www.pearlizumi.com
That's cute that you have the same size hands. 😎may be worth it for you to get a pair of heated gloves, my wife has these which i will 'borrow' for lunch rides when it gets into the low 20s and teens, spending 20min of a 60 min (strictly limited) ride warming up fingers is not a fun time, they work pretty well even on just the lowest setting.
How are they with sizing? I'm right on the borderline of Med Lg. Pretty sure the P.I. 5 fingers I currently own are Med.I added the lobster Evo PIs to my arsenal last year, worked very well. They have a full-on lobster version as well, but I like having some finger dexterity

I had a version of the PI lobster ones and they are legit. While PI doesn't make very good jerseys and shorts, they excel at gloves and booties. At a point in time they were my 20 and under glove.Thanks. Looking at the reviews, they're all over the place with "warmest glove ever", "works 10deg - 40deg", to "fingers were cold in 10min."
Almost pulled the trigger on a "warmer" Gorewear model, 5 finger or the lobster type, but all the reviews say the sizing is way off.
Never really thought about the dewpoint. The Accuweather RealFeel was in the low 20s both days. Think I've made my decision on the P.I. gloves that @Bikeworks posted.I had a version of the PI lobster ones and they are legit. The answer sleestak are the best winter cycling gloves ever made but are long discontinued. There is no explanation why they are so much warmer than other gloves and are not bulky, but they have primaloft insulation so that might be the key.
I have had a few pairs of gore gloves, as good as their winter jackets are, somehow the gloves never lived up to expectations especially with the higher price tag.
You could consider a shell over an existing glove, I have an assos pair that I use on the road under 25.
One tip is to look at the dew point. The last few mornings the temp wasn't very cold but the dew point was 10 degrees less and is what makes things feel raw at low temps. So if the temp was 32 and dew point is 22, I go with the glove I would wear for 22.
We have the PI lobster gloves in large and 2xl, on sale for 40% off....non-lobster AmFib in large, xl, 2xl for 30% off....headed card on the lobster says good to 10D, AmFib says 15D...Bumping this for suggestions.
