Jungle Habitat Conditions

moto dude in there recently is churning up a lot of the rocks, used to see them periodically seems someone is always riding in there. rhino had a lot of loose rocks. did what I could. not used to seeing them on rhino but his tracks are everywhere.

Where in Rhino? I've seen them all the way off by the power lines, but that's not actually on the trail. Are they actually on RHINO?

on the rhino single track as well as other single track. tracks everywhere. I ride there all the time, someone is actively riding the MTB trails on a moto. doesn't seem like kids or quad types, whoever it is is riding pretty technical lines and churning up rocks

are there tire tracks or just odd midsize rocks ending up in the trail?

The bears flip the rocks looking for food (why a bear eats a grub is beyond me?)

@Patrick He isn't wrong about dirtbikes/surrons on the singletrack. @vdub and I talk about this sometimes and 99% of the time this isn't typically an issue but there is always once or twice a year I catch one on the single track. I grew up in West milford so I have been mtb and quad riding in jungle for probably 20+ years at this point.

jungle was def a place where the gas powered group went -
there was probably a way to get there from Boonton off road, but i'd run out of gas!
(um, I think there is a story about that here?)

kinda weird they are on tech single track like rhino- can't let it rip - was how I liked to ride.
sand pits in montville, train service roads, there was some stuff in Parsippany along 46 near mt lakes (Lackawanna ave?)

I guess I did some slow speed stuff around the Boonton res.
the light weight and instant-on of the emoto def can do some damage - ugh.

not sure I want to go trail riding anymore, but it would be nice to do a road groupie. I'd have to get my license now,
when I was younger, that wasn't an issue 😀

tire tracks everywhere and mostly small rocks, not boulders really.....yeah I've seen the bears do that they are amazingly strong.

not sure why but it seems different than the usual kids. seems like they are riding the whole trail and rhino isn't really moto friendly. someone has skills.

Rode there today and didn’t see any problems on Rhino? Park is in great shape…

@Patrick

I think you are right about a trail from Boonton. I seem to recall something coming up into Jefferson and then would cut the trails across 23 to clinton road (watershed), ride the powerlines down. I might have done that ride partially from WM that way, but not 1000% sure.

moto guy in there again tearing it up, real shame. On the plus side, all the new work on hippo, cages looks great, thanks Dave
