Chimney Rock Conditions

TRAIL UPDATES
The corridor on The Black Trail (Upper) and The Black Trail - River Side (Lower) have been freshly trimmed and all face slappers and thorny things removed from the Gilbride lot to Vosseller Ave. These trails should be good for a little while.

I also did some trimming at the Vosseller Ave crossing to improve visibility to make crossing safer. Some additional trimming needed.

Be sure to check out the changes to the Camp Cromwell Connector that @Kirt, @jdog, @JPark, and several other volunteers (don't know their handle) did during the past week.

Primo conditions today! Other than that usually wet rock section on red, shite hole (of course), and that little bit on lower black, it was ideal!

Hit a bunch of stuff I didn’t yesterday, other than that one spot on red and that puddle near top of blue no muck to be found (shite hole excluded of course).

Did most of red and blue today.

This was the worse I saw on red and it really wasn’t bad at all.

Some soft and wet spots on lower blue. Upper and back blue (where the S turns are) were A-OK.

Go get it, boys and girls!!

Thanks for the updates!
I started trimming on lower blue today and looked at solutions for many of the muddy spots on lower blue. More to come in the next week or two.

I’m curious, what can be done about lower blue? To my untrained eye, much of it looks like it sits in a low lying area at the bottom of a valley. What would the remedy be?

Also, you covered just about the entire park! Must’ve been a 14+ mile ride.
With some culverts and careful movement of soil, I’m confident I could make that section bone dry. Keeping in mind that I spent 20 years adding 70 plus pipes and bridges to 6mr.

I finally did upper black, the trail that veers away from the Middle Brook between Gilbride and Vosseller. I had been deliberately avoiding the upper trail due to how muddy it was earlier in spring. Today, I was pleased to see it’s almost completely dried out. But I did see you animals left a bunch of ruts behind. 😄

At risk of stating the obvious, the rest of black and yellow, which I also rode, are running superbly.

Bone dry today (well the trails, not me!). Even shite hole is almost moisture-less.

Did avoid lower blue and upper black so ymmv.
What is shit hole? Is that the section leading up to Gilbride from the bridge behind the ballfields? I know that place stinks after a heavy rain.
