Good eye. That's kevlar linesman rope which helps to encourage unstable widowmakers to fall on their own. I still had to make a saw cut but the rope worked for the dicey part.

In addition to the targets mentioned above, I cleared 3 juicy widowmakers today... One right at the RR crossing, and two out on green, near the fire tower/gravity cavity area...

Middle maze was last on my list today, about 2pm. Accessed from the RR crossing trailhead. It wasn't even a saw-out. The log had broken into manageable sections, when it hit the ground. Before I got there, somebody muscled the main segment out of the way. They left behind a few chunks...
