For sale is a vintage 1992 Cannondale M2000 hardtail upgraded in the past 2 or 3 seasons - $450. Size is M/L 18".

Believe it or not this bike has seen limited action. There are, however, some battle scars including some chain suck damage around the BB and tire rub on the chainstay. I've converted the drive train to a 1 x 10 with a 34T Wolftooth front chain ring matched up to an XTR 10 speed front shifter and XT Shadow+ rear derailleur.

I'm 5'9" with a 30" inseam and I feel like this bike is probably to big for me standover-wise.

Frame: Aluminum
Fork: Rockshox TK Recon Silver 120mm 9mm QR (can throw in the original Pepperoni rigid fork)
Brakes: Shimano Deore V-Brakes
Shifter: Shimano XTR 10 speed
Derailleur: Shimano XT Shadow+ Clutch 10 speed
Rims: Mavic 719
Hubs: Shimano Deore
Tires: Kenda Honey Badger 2.2 (Front) Kenda Small Block 8 2.1 (Rear) set up tubeless
Crank: Shimano Deore 175mm (only original stock item remaining on the frame)
Cassette: Shimano 10 speed
Chain: KMC 10 speed
Saddle: Specialized Phenom 143mm
Seatpost: Easton 27.2
Clamp: Thomson
Stem: Easton
Bars: Easton
Grips: SRAM lockon
Headset: FSA 1-1/8 Threadless
Pedals: Shimano M530

Rear dropout is 135 QR.

I can throw in an additional XT Shadow+ RD, Shimano Zee 10 speed shifter, and KMC 10 speed chain for an extra $100. All are brand new and never been used.

I have a Surly SS conversion kit + 22T Wolftooth SS ring + chain tensioners (and sized chain) I can throw in for an extra $100 too. This kit is used, but for 2 - 3 rides last summer.

This bike with come with 8 extra tires:
2x Michelin AT 2.0
1x Kenda Honey Badger 2.2
1x Kenda Karma 1.95
2x Kenda Road Tires 1.95
2x Bontrager XR4 Comp

The fork has less than 200 miles on it and will come with a new seal pack.

Yes, it is over 20 years old.
Yes, it has 26" wheels.
Yes, it has V-brakes.

This would make a great low cost entry for a beginner with some really good components that could be transferred over to a new frame as skills/interest progress.

I bought this bike with money I made from a summer job when I was in high school and I've had it ever since. It's moved with me through countless apartments in Hoboken and now sits idle in my shop in Allendale. I barely have time to ride my main bike, let one this one so I have to let her go.

I've also moved on to a 29er so I'm cleaning out the 26" inventory.

Since you are the original owner, take a close look at the seatstay/chainstay interface. Most of these are cracked here.

As an original owner, this bike is still under warranty. That is nontransferable to a buyer.

I sold this same bike in 1992 and I know it well. The geo chart you provided is not accurate when paired with a suspension fork. The bb is now higher and the HTa is now slacker. This makes it more modern in theory.

@jdog - thanks for the feedback, I'll take a closer look at the frame. i haven't noticed anything as of march when i rode it last, but i'm not a mechanic so i will probably need a professional opinion. if it turns out there are cracks, the frame will be taken off the market.

would you be able to provide more info on the warranty? it's pretty cool to hear that the company would still honor something this old, but i presume i would need some type of documentation of original ownership of which is long gone.

in any event, yes - the posted geo sheet will not reflect the current setup. i should have been more clear this was only the starting point and the new fork will skew the HTA at the very least.

i'd love to sell this as-is, but will entertain parts only offers if there is no interest after a week or so.

I appreciate the offer, and I know beggars can't be choosers but I think this might be a little more trouble than it's work. thank you though
