1up Rack

was looking at the new 1UP Equip double to replace my Kuat. I noticed there was no integrated cable lock to secure the bikes and the trays do not fold for storage. Saris MTR has an integrated cable lock system and the trays fold for easy storage, but are very, pricey. What is the best solution for securing bikes to the 1UP?
This is available, but I just use a cable and padlock if leaving the bike unattended. Also, always add a chain and padlock to secure the rack to the hitch.

That's interesting. The basic 1UP rack can fold when it's off the car. The hinges are in the middle and they rotate forward. I'm not sure if it works with two racks though.

OK thanks. Cab

Yes, it works with the 2 rack version, as well. That is why the Saris MTR is a compelling option - their 2 rack version has folding arms, with built in cable lock

After years of waiting, i finally bought a quikrstuff mach2 with add on for what i feel was a good price. Holy beefy compared to the 1up racks except for the extreme duty which I have not seen.

I'd love to get one but I just can't justify it.

They pop up in the secondary market once in a while. Just have to keep looking. Tbh, I’ll be looking for a 1-1/4” model now and another add on.
I want to get a 2" version for one of my vehicles but for now I'm still using my 1-1/4" with a 2" adapter.
