2011 Bear Mountain Spring Classic

Anyone I have ever talked with that has done this has said this is one tough race loop. I find it hard already in that I can't even figure out which group I would even be eligible for. Can cat5 guys even do this race?
 
No cat 5s I believe.

No race for me. Got some event I'm preparing for the following weekend.

I awoke to find this in my inbox...crushing.

As previously disclosed we have been forced to make significant changes to the Bear Mountain Race as a result of construction in the park. Unfortunately these changes have forced us to reduce the event to just four fields of which there will be only one Cat 4 field.

Confirmed Cat 4 slots have been awarded in the order of registration. If you are receiving this email you have been placed on the wait list. We sincerely hope to move as many riders as possible from the wait list onto the confirmed riders list.

If you do not wish to be wait listed for the event, please let us know and we will remove you from the wait list.

Again we sincerely apologize for the last minute changes.

This was my A priority target for the road season. Anyone have any CRCA friends that can help? My fingers are crossed that slots open up. 🙁

I was talking with a westwood guy I know on sunday's ride and he was explaining that now the course is just like the way they screwed it last year where you come down the hill make a turn and have to go right back up. I actually don't know the course but he seemed bummed about it.
 
This is making me a little less disappointed that I hemmed and hawed and missed the 45+ registration. I was still pondering 35+ or Cat 3, but I didn't hear much good about the modified course, while the original 14 mile lap is an undisputed classic for sure.
