2022 31/31 Ride daily for bragging rights and a reward. TM / Jorba / MtbNJ /

Last day in Vermont. Rain coming up here too, got the hour in at Sherburne before checking out and heading home. 70 miles, 5000 feet climbed over the 4 days.

18/31: i have wonderful memories of riding bikes with the kids in a little parking area where we live. They would chase me around in circles and would be so happy when they finally caught me. I could do that for hours. I would give everything I have and take out a loan just to do it again.

However. It's not so much fun when I have to check the box in July. Took 2 rides.

"Look at the bear on a bike riding in circles! Nevermind, its just dad."

Day 10/20 .. I didn’t think I was going to get this one in, but I was inspired by @Shaggz . I needed an album that was at least an hour to make me not want to ride into the pond; I considered Exile on Main Street, but opted for The Wall, as I’ve been in more of a Pink Floyd kind of mood lately. Maybe next time I’ll put mirrors on the bike and go with Quadrophenia. :30 clockwise, :30 counterclockwise.

Either way, I wish I had the chamois on for this one :-(

7/18. I remember a quote I once read from a biography of a soldier; “If you have never known the simple pleasure of a passing rainstorm working outside on a hot summer day then I truly pity you.”

Sounds better than “I got caught in the rain on the Columbia Trail. 🤣
