Lots of trees/branches down across towpath. Cleared some, climbed over some and one force me to go off the towpath on to canal.

The big tree was across the towpath and the top almost reached the other side of the canal.

Was out late so slept in a little and just did a tempo power hour before WFH. It was nice and cloudy and no wind but still humid at 7:30am. Seems we got lucky up here and didn’t have any rain storms last night.

tried to beat my previous PR on a local segment but came up 2 seconds short probably because legs are tired from yesterdays ride. At least that’s my excuse today.

I did add this 5/16 socket to my roadside tool
Find collection. I was surprised it wasn’t a 10mm. 🤪

Woke up to my alarm 3:30 AM to try to get a ride in before work. Heard thunder and went right back to sleep for my normal alarm. I didn’t think I’d be able to squeeze a ride in and basically wrote it off as I tried (this afternoon is a no go). Talked to some friends in a group chat I’m in saying “it’s over” and they brought me out of a negative headspace and managed to get it done during a lunch I took some PTO on. So thanks to @Hair Face and @Granogued plus others not on the form for getting me back to the positive mind set.

Attaboy!

Yesterday's ride
ride 16 of 31
Another easy ride. Rode Creek Road since it is the road with the most shade in these parts. Several trees down.
I have suspect skin cancer on my tongue! So after my ride, I had some minor outpatient surgery and spent the rest of the day asleep. I still can't talk properly.

I pray that you heal fast and that you have NO further issues.

motivation can be a killer sometimes... keep plugging along!

I also forced myself to ride this morning even if it wasnt the best timing because lunchtime would be 90F and horrible and later (now) would be Tstorms rolling in.

Today I got in ride 17 of 31, plus a mulligan since I'm traveling all day on the 23rd.

Mulligan - I went to Frenchtown Preserve and cleared the Blue Trail. It is clear of all logs, trees, debris and I trimmed back all growth considerably. I worked on yellow as well, but someone needs to hit that with a chainsaw. See pic.

My plan was to ride what I cleared, but by the time I finished TM, I was so hot, tired, drenched and dehydrated that I had to drive back home to shower and eat. I needed scallions for dinner, so I decided to ride to the Phillips Farms and back. I was so wiped from TM, that I decided to ride the ebike, which I was very grateful for because there were enough road closures that on my Wilder that would have turned into a 2+ hour ride....which I would not have had enough water for.

All the best to you. I’ve been getting skin cancer treatments the last couple years. Scottish heritage and long no protection days at sandy hook with Noxema evenings in the late 60’s took their toll. So far they’ve been able to remove problems with surgery and freezing. F cancer.

plus hour of TM.

(watch with sound) Last few times I have been at Nesh these roosters have been going nuts. Cleared one tree, a bunch of big branches and vine tangle, which are the worst. If any of this was poison, I am pretty f'ed.

The humidity in the woods was horrible and the wet from the rain had everything leaning in, which was somewhat expected but damn it was bad. I grabbed my trimmer after doing a lap with the saw-in-pack (reports said lots of trees down, which there was one 1) and did a small section that was getting thick.

Feeling the effects of yesterdays unplanned sprint and 2+ hours in the heat cutting the grass after work last night, so I took it easier today and cruised around with a local riding buddy during lunch break from wfh.

Nice to have the temps a little lower even if it got a little humid when we were done. Forgot to take any pics this time we were BSing the whole ride which made the miles go by so much quicker than riding alone.

Missed two days(Sun/Tues)but still staying in to see how many I can ride in the month. One day I was traveling and the other missed day I was like NFW am I riding. Those two days helped to refresh me so I’m feeling better now. I got this. I’ll probably miss one more but 28 of 31 would still be great!
