3 weeks till Mayhem. I’m going to do the endurance race I think. 8AM Start in south Jersey is rough.
I know I probably advised against doing this endurance race because of the course, but I was actually kind of great when I did it 2 years ago.
It’s all about carrying momentum through the turns. Being on and off the gas will kill you. And if it’s raining, skip it or do the XC.I'm registered endurance, see you at the start line! Going to see if I'm shit at pacing for 4 hours 😆
whats the course terrain like for an advanced beginner? AFAF?3 weeks till Mayhem. I’m going to do the endurance race I think. 8AM Start in south Jersey is rough.

Sandy, pine barrens terrain. Very beginner mtb racer friendly.

Been awhile since I've participated in that race. That's how I remember the last time. And the mud hole section is pretty memorable. And actually, they took out that one hill last year (I thought they did anyway)
i did the google thing and found this video - seems to describe and show all of the above.
I'll think about it ive got some other things on the agenda already for March that may conflict with the lead up to this date.
It's like Allaire, but flatter, and twistier.whats the course terrain like for an advanced beginner? AFAF?
haha yeah great recap.Jon's a local to me and has a lot of recap/pre-ride videos. As far as I know he isn't on the forum. But he's a good dude, give him a like and follow!
PS: I had not previously watched this video but spotted myself at the start (I did the 2.5 hr last year). That early slinky action is so God Damn frustrating.
haha yeah great recap.
Then I went a little down the black hole of his other recaps and found the Dickerson Mine endurance one, with @Glenn Rides After 4 PM CST around the 3:10 minute mark right behind him:
Saw you and some other MTBNJ racers in there.I followed him (yellow jacket) for a solid few minutes of that race at the beginning (2:40ish)
