Here one problem we deal with today - state there is no reasoning/discussing an issue you don’t agree with. Then go to your corner. There's no point in debating gun rights with those who support gun rights. Doesn't matter what you say, it'll never change their minds. I don't care about anyone having guns, you do you. I don't want them in my house, I don't want my kids to visit friends whose parents have guns in their houses. I've never personally met anyone that has saved themselves or family members with a gun. As a psych nurse, I've met plenty that have ruined their lives with one.

Post up/cite several books/articles/publications that support your cause and act like the other side can’t do the same exact thing.
Then I love the “we need to come together to fight/end this” as long as come together means agreeing with my side.
While not directed at you solely, this is an issue. The middle seems to be dwindling, or at least the media wants us to think that.
Do you get to see the bad side of things - yes. Do you get to see the cases where an armed citizen prevails - No. you just stated it.
I am a victim of gun violence - having been in that situation with a gun on me by a criminal who got ten years I would like the option to defend myself. That is my right. I hope none of you have to go through what I did.
Maybe when the government can get illegal guns off the street and end violent crime they will have a better ground to stand on. Chicago has come off the strictest gun laws and is a liberal/anti-gun stronghold and the place is a war zone. There is not a gun problem there, it is a culture problem. There are tons of guns where I live, gun clubs every square mile - we don’t fill our hospitals with gun wound victims on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis.
