Any Must-Do Trails near Roanoke VA?

Im heading to Greensboro NC twice this year for daughter's swim meets and am tacking on some riding. Hitting Massanutten on the way down, was thinking of Roanoke on the way back. Any must do trails around the area? I see Carvins Cove, Mill Mountain and Jefferson NF. Anyone with experience in the area?

The generic spot to hit is Carvin's Cove just west of 81 by Roanoke. You do need to buy a pass for the day but it's just a few bucks.

Easy to navigate just pay attention to the trails on Trailforks as it's relatively easy to take crappy trails or crappy trails the wrong way.

FYI, Greensboro isn't that exciting for mountain biking but they do have some trails nearby and if you just want to pedal the huge path that runs through the city is pretty nice.

Yeah, I was underwhelmed with the riding in Greensboro, but that will just make me volunteer to time my daughters swim meet, and hit good stuff coming/going!
