I'd be happy to help with trail maintenance. I've been involved with our team sessions at Clayton for the last couple of years and the change is staggering...
The current staff at Mercer County is great to work with. The focus of the TM is trimming and it is not shock and awe, i.e. no brush hogs or hedge trimmers. it is very targeted trimming to not upset the minimal amount of native growth that exists.
Since 2017 we rebuilt the relation with the park, please build on that. I have largely chosen to focus my efforts elsewhere due to the hostile user base against mtb.

Honestly, that's the issue. The bird watchers are a PIA. They won. The trails are no longer rideable in most locations and that's what they wanted. I know a lot of the history and unfortunately I don't see it getting better. We have a great relationship with the folks over in Monmouth County. I ride where I used to live for the most part because Baldpate is just not a MTB friendly place anymore.
This stinks for me because I can ride there from my house...
Yeah, we did a ton of work from 2017-2022, but its non stop trimming. Maybe in the fall ill clean it up.

If folks are going out to trim, I'm more than willing to join. I've taken clippers in when hiking, but the task is just too big for one person. How would I get notified when work is happening? I've got friends who would help who like to ride these trails. I'd be in to help at WC as well.
I've seen the work you accomplished with some of the reroutes and moving of rocks on copper. It's really appreciated. I think the biggest job was done on the no name white trail off of ridge. That area was trashed after the winds or tornados back a few years ago.

Overall the park looks great as we are approaching fall. Park lead trimming as been pretty good and kept the main trails open. Myself and a few others have kept the less traveled trails trimmed. A few tight spots but it is in a good spot. yellow to NJ29 is an unknown as far as conditions go as i have not been over there.
The washington xing, baldpate, water co loop is looking fresh and will be primo for fall rides.

FYI, Deer Management at Mercer Parks is starting 1 month later this year. They just put these signs up at Baldpate. Pretty much the standard the past few years. Open Sunday-Tuesday once gun season starts.
Otherwise park is in great condition. A bunch of park coordinated trimming this year with some supplemental. Pretty much everything is running well.

Pretty much everything is running well and is trimmed with the exception of yellow down to 29 and "down the chunk" which is hiker only anyways. A few more areas to trim the low stuff / stilt grass, which should be the last trim of the season. Looking forward to a great fall.

Rode some of the park this morning. I’m not overly familiar with the place as I only ride it once or twice a year but what I did ride was as running well. I did stumble across a concerning window maker (see photo)
It isn’t blocking the trail and I rode straight through w/out issue. Just thought I’d mention it here. Oh, I reported it on TF so if it’s something @stb222 and crew thinks it’s worth dealing with, they’ll have the GPS location.
