Best trail in SOUTH jersey?

thanks guys - sorry i'm not from the area and i don't see GCC on the trail dir > http://www.mtbnj.com/wiki/Category:Trail_Directory

any info on this?

you won't, they don't list most of the true sj spots. If you look at the trails listed as "South Jersey" most of them would be more central jersey. Like Allaire IMO should be under central jersey for example. GCC is Gloucester County College, somwhat technical w alot of roots. D&Q has there summer sizzler race there and it's a good ride for sure. I ride there sometimes but mostly CCC since it's less than a mile from my house and when I'm short on time. Ceres in Mantua is the most fun as far as having pretty good flow to it. If you ever wanna check it out let me know.

I've ridden GCC and Ceres. I was driving by CCC, but didn't see the trail head. Can anyone help me with that?

access the trail from the park next to the college, drive past college and make right into park. Park in the 1st lot on the right on the same side as the woods. There's a untility shed in that lot. There's multiple drop in ponts from that lot and it's pretty easy to make a 6+ mile loop. Most of the better trails are in the back, not the woods between the park and college. Rode there tonight around 5, trails are in great shape considering all the rain we got this week.....dries out days before GCC or Ceres.

I was at WCC today and I was amazed that it dried up pretty quick also.

not sure if this deserves its own thread, but what is the best riding for fitness near Cherry Hill, NJ?

what would be best riding for fun nearest c-hill?

Martin, I grew up and lived in cherry hill for a long time. I just recenlty moved a bit south. The best riding by far local to cherry hill is Wissahickon park over in philly. depending on where you live and where you park over at wiss, you can be there in 30 minutes. I can't belive no one else mentioned it.

White clay is about an hour away. GCCC and CCCC will probably take almost 30 minutes to get to as well.

bang for you buck is Wiss. it's a 17+ mile loop with varying terrain, some tough climbs, and really fun single track. just pick your travel time carefully, because you have to head straight through the city (philly)

Another option is the king's grant trails in marlton. I've never ridden there because it's faster for me to get to Wiss, but I've heard it's fun, especially in the winter. seach the forums for a wednesday night kings grant ride that takes place in the winter.

awesome thanks jay - that chainsaw guy likes wiss a lot too, he's mentioned it a few times. i will have to check it out =]

nobody mentioned Wiss because the thread is best in south jersey, love riding there. Wiss wins hands down compared to any of the other places mentioned in this thread but it is in Philly

that is true

Ah, that is true. But wiss is so close I wouldn't want to leave it out. if you have to drive 30 minutes, make it worth your while, you know?

but point taken...it is in PA.

Thanks for the help. I ride the other side of Ceres by the seesaw (anybody know where the pipe is hidden for the seesaw?) and the newer trails on the far end of the park by the other parking lot. I find it a fun place to ride with some cool obstacles showing back up if you know where to look for them. It takes me almost an hour to get there. I am right by Atlantic City. The guys I ride with went to 6 mile last weekend, but it was about 2 hours for me, so I passed. Allaire seems like it would be about the same distance for all of us. I just wanted to make sure they wouldn't be bored there.

Anybody planning a trip to De for Clay Creek? Even though some of it is over my riding level I do want to get there soon and give it a try.

Clay Creek is awesome...but be sure to check out Fairhill Park in DE/MD...has great singletrack and a few technical secitons..if you're looking for more then 6 miles of great traisl..this is the place to go.
