Buy a helmet that comes with a go-pro mount. My Giro came with one.
Definitely worth it over a half assed mount.

I can take a pic later. But I tuck the flaps of the strap back into the helmet. 🤪

I assumed most of their helmets would have it but I guess I'm wrong. A quick look and their offerings and I randomly bought the one that comes with it.
It's also a breakaway mount which is nice for safety.

This is what I got. While I don’t end up MTB riding with it in use as much as all of youz guyz, the times I have used it I haven’t had any issues. Most recent was last Wednesday the Dickerson mine ride got dark in a hurry I was glad I had the bar light and a helmet light.
I leave the mount attached to the helmet all the time now makes it one less thing to lose in my mess of a garage.

How do you "convert" a light to a go pro mount?
Depends on the light but nightlight sells An adapter for it

My hangover came with the gopro mount. Bit maybe that's changed.
Yes. Any of the sets kn amazon with the stick on baseplate should work fine

For my Light & Motion light, I removed the bar strap and replaced it with a GoPro mount I bought off Amazon. Then I put a stick-on base plate on my helmet.
For my army of MagicShine lights I had to build my own (from a bunch of parts in my spares box).
I think the hangover does, yes. The bar mounted ones (Trail Evo for sure) do not.

If you get the doubled sided tape mount from
Go pro or the like, you can always go that style. It doesn’t move. I run my light and motion lights on them all the time. Seca enduro or seca 2000. Flop back and forth between bike and helmet depending how deep into the season.

Agree, that 3m tape on the slide mount sticks really well.
