Bike Shop Thieves

They probably get weird questions every 12 minutes.

I would think the masks really make identification difficult. These characters look like they have the largest masks made for ultra coverage. Sux

implement door trap/turnstile to come in and out but that will take extra spaces that the bike shop can use as additional display area.

Can you install an electric lock at the door, when engaged by a barrage of weird question lock the door and wait for the thief to try and get through with a bike?
Against fire code as stated, but even more of a concern is that you best be ready to go hands on with two or three people in this case. And that’s only true if there are no other customers in the store. If there are, a shop worker better not lock those doors to prevent a thieve’s exit, as that is minimally a huge lawsuit waiting to happen.

Attention other shops...we just had an attempted break in/theft DURING NORMAL SHOP HOURS. We had 1 guy speaking Spanish (lets call him dirtbag1) distracting one of my staff asking a bunch of dumb questions while another accomplice (dirtbag 2) kept coming in and out (apparently he was the lookout). At the same time, someone was trying to pry open the back door. Thankfully, our neighbor saw something fishy, and chased the guy away. When he came into alert us, the Dirtbag twins took off. He caught them on video getting into the Silver SUV with Florida plates (he has a clear shot of the plate) as they took off. Since we are directly across from the Courthouse, who have EXCELLENT cameras, as well as all of the video we and the neighbors have, the police have plenty to work with. Stay alert guys!

I have noticed some high end bikes have been targeted and stolen in the Northern Ocean County area. There are a few posts on FB noting this. Most all from the owners home.
