Hit the local trails after work and was surprised to still see a little snow lurking in the shadows. To be honest, it's more surprising that this is the only snow the fattie has seen and it's February. Makes me wonder what is still in store for us this winter...

Salt inhaled - a lot
Bonus: 0:00

Another day where between work and home things were lining up to prevent me from riding. But I went anyway and was even a little underdressed then sun didn’t make it feel any warmer at all.

For the trace amount of snow we got they salted the shit out of all the roads to the point where the shoulder was completed coated.

Always feels better mentally to get a ride outside and help make the day moar better. At least I finally tested COVID negative this morning.

If anything will take me out early, it will be salis pulmoniosis.

Macgyver Bonus 100

Wasn’t actually planning to ride today after the last 3 days and still purging the last bits of COVID. But one my of WFH locals decided to
Ride outdoors and he’s normally indoors in this cold so I couldn’t let him show me up.

We did one of our usual road loops and just as he yells “Glass” I hear a pop and a glass shattering sound. We pull off and he’s bleeding sealant out the rear tire. Despite having a dart he didn’t really know how to use it and I didn’t think it would really hold on a more slick type gravel king tire anyway. So my idea was rub some dirt across it and help
It seal up. After removing the wheel and sloshing it around it seemed to hold. Hit it with a little CO2 just to make it rideable and it lasted the 8 or so miles back home. Of course the whole way back was into a massive headwind so it felt like it took forever. Oh and somehow I also forgot my water bottle at home when I left which i never do but for a short cold ride I wasn’t even that thirsty.

This is what makes fun riding stories !
