One of the foster kids my parents took in when I was young eventually was moved to Brisbane. We visited her a couple times there and it was just as scary and depressing a place as you would think. I was only 10-12 years old or so at that time but I knew that bad things happen in places like that. It looked and smelled wrong inside. I still wonder how things shook out for her.

I don't remember the name of the trail, but there is an old abandoned swingset, playground and basketball court out in the woods. Was riding at dusk one evening, and stopped for drink of water and rest out by the swingset. It was not wind. One of the broken swings started moving.. . . . . I never rode so fast in my life. Place gives me the creeps.

Helluva motivator, innit? My avg speeds are always high at briz.

I used to ride there in winter after work around 4:30. I'd start with the sun up but midway through i'm flicking on the bar lights and finishing in the dark. Circling the old compound at dusk really lights a fire under your saddle.

Had no idea the history of that place. I never felt more unsettled in my life than riding around that area. All my instincts were saying get the hell away from here.

Nightmare scenario to NJs environmental health. Wiping out entire ecosystems. Yes, redevelop Peddlers Village and other abandoned tracts of already developed properties. But leave the woods woods. This should be a part of Allaire State Park, as we know it already is. Period. I'll see Mikie Sherrill tomorrow and will relay our concerns with this important issue!

The entire Brisbane site encircled by Atlantic, 18th and 195 is 356 acres. The proposition states they would use only 155 acres, likely reusing the prior hospital site since it has road access and utilities. They would likley be bounded by the creek and wetlands east of it and the disc golf course west of it if that was what they are thinking.
