So world cup finals were this past weekend....This is a cool event with tons of different cars...import vs domestic...street cars, 5 sec door cars, all kinds of crazy set ups. Drag radial record was set with a 5.75 @228mph....I remember when the record was in the 8s...crazy what the computer and a bunch of sensor/tuning ability has done for drag cars.

Cost $0. Government surplus/grants, etc. Well, other than the graphics, maintenance, insurance, driver training...
Thankfully nobody has to pay for what the government spends.

Another good showing at the GSC&C event in Watchung circle today. Nice mix of cars including a parade of Minis which is only a tad less exciting than Vettes. Met a local tuner specializing in Firebirds and restomods, anybody heard of 2nd Gen Engineering out of Hackettstown? He had the gold 77 or 78 next to mine.

Seen in Dublin last week. Arteon R wagon. I think it's basically a Golf R drivetrain in a bigger package. This is a HUGE car in Dublin. I would hate to have to get into/out of the parking garages I encountered.
Driving in Dublin sucks. We stayed about 30min away and had to drive in 2X. Remember that scene in Office Space where the guy with the walker passes the car? That's downtown Dublin. When we got close to a bar where we were supposed to meet people, I sent my wife and daughter on ahead on foot.
Curiously (and thankfully) there's no American insane aggression in the driving. I pulled up to a toll before a tunnel, expecting it would record my tag and I would pay over the internet, which is how the OTHER tolls work. Turns out this one had a card reader but I had no idea. A gate was down and I was stuck. I started honking my horn - no one around. Cars backed up behind me. Eventually, I noticed the card reader I had pulled past. Backed up, paid, and was on my way. During the whole scene, not a single horn was honked. It was so weird.
Oh yeah, I rented a Dacia Duster CUV thing with a 6MT. The only pics I bothered to take of it were of all the damage! By the looks of it, someone dragged the whole left side of it down a parking garage column.
