Charitable Efforts

This entire thread is quite interesting. When I started to ride, I got hooked on the sport and 6 months later Allaire was gonna close due to lack of volunteers and unsafe conditions. I decided to get involved for selfish reasons and got hooked on the passion of others. Over my many moons involved in the sport, many things have changed, there was no longer a big rift between cyclists and equestrians. We as a group were able to cement our positions as positive additions to the user community. But as indicated above, much is done by a few…let’s face it, many don’t have the time to give. So I’ve always greatly appreciated the efforts of those who work so hard to keep it all going. @Johnny Utah , @Norm , @Patrick you all do so much and I thank you for that. The folks that steward the parks should get everyone’s support. We are all volunteers and we all need to cut each other some slack and appreciate their efforts, but suggestions should always be welcomed.

@Frank - in any effort, 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people.
This is well known - and doesn't matter where you go.

Here, other 80% of the people participate with money (and now likes/shares) - it is important, and hopefully a TM day.
They can also be great idea generators, eyes/wheels on the trails, or the more general, lets call it, cycling environment.
It is what it is - for 100s of reasons.

Now, JORBA is a volunteer organization. it is still 80/20, but throw in that nobody is getting paid to do a job -
so the highest level jobs (recruiting) don't get any focused attention. IMHO it should be a paid job - but as @KenS pointed out,
we'll have a paid job reporting to a volunteer?????

JORBA really doesn't need a critical discussion here. Change is in the air, let's give the new guard a bit.
I wasn't good at meetings because all the other crap I had going. that is changing. so I may start jumping on calls.

@Johnny Utah - i'm a JORBA admin - restarted after a year or so off, they just changed-up the systems behind it, and I need to catch back up.
I'm terrible at actually delivering content to publish - I can create the story to hand off to a next level person/editor.
And as noted, if something comes in, I can get it up in the right place.
