Chimney Rock Conditions

anyone know what's up with the construction cutting off green from Vosseler to Millers?
Family member lives on the corner of vosseller and miller. Apparently they’re clearing out a new entrance and parking area for the trailhead. I could be wrong but thats what they’re hearing in the neighborhood talks. Pretty sad, was riding down miller yesterday and they demolished a pretty large portion of forest up there. All the high tech stuff is taped off with signage of trail closure.

How much rain did you get out there? Would it be good to ride dawn patrol tomorrow? (Sunday)

Steady rain for a good few hours. Much more than was forecast. That being said, if you don't mind wet rocks and leaf cover, I don't think it will be muddy.

Been meaning to look into that, saw the survey flags out on the last ride. I think there’s some sewer lines through there, probably some utility work.
It looks pretty extensive. My mind went to housing development and trail destruction! I’d hate to lose anything up there.

Strange they would clear forest when there’s already a clearing and gated entrance at the bend. I always thought it had been a parking lot many moons ago.

Dirt is great, very few puddles or soft spots. Just lots of debris on the trails. Moved a bunch, didn’t get everything.

There’s a tree down on upper blue just past the skinny coming downhill, can avoid it to the left over that sketchy rock line. Didn’t look thick, but too long to move with some limbs.

Miller ln is a private Rd. Township is building a new road to bypass miller

Soo, we'll be left with hundreds of trees torn out for a project that never gets completed due to legal battles.

Some suit probably bought one of the houses for sale on Miller. Hates people driving down his street so wrote up some BS proposal where only 34 trees would be removed.

trees do not stop hurricane level flooding - that is idiotic reasoning.
removal of trees and leaving root balls does not contribute to erosion.
If 1/2 of the trees were ash, they were dead anyway.

we shouldn't look to punish here - just get a reforestation plan in place and move forward.
plant some pawpaws! pear, apple, etc. yum!

Still, wtf?
