Cranks and bottom bracket - what do I buy

I need to replace my cranks. (stripped pedal threads)
I don't need to, but maybe should, replace my bottom bracket (one bearing is a little gritty)

I guess the parts are a bit older and not finding them easily by searching. What should I buy?

It's for my old hardtail, family bike. I'm not concerned about weight, just trying to keep it in good working condition on a budget.

SM-BB70 bottom bracket
SLX cranks, fc-m675

So it's hollowtech ii
175mm
1*10

Any suggestions would be appreciated, or if you have stuff in your parts bin I'll help you declutter...

If you replace the cranks you need to know the specs of the new cranks before selecting the BB. If you keep the same standard (24mm spindle) any BSA threaded, 24mm 73mm width BB will do. Many use the current Shimano XT or XTR BB.

Other options are 30mm Cinch or DUB (SRAM)

Would these two things work, on my bike, and with each other?

Apologies I'm a complete noob this parts of the bicycle is virgin territory to me

Should work without any issue. Although if a 170mm length crankset is available you may want to go with that.

If you don't have the bottom bracket tool, may as well order now. Your current bottom bracket probably has the larger style and the newer one is the smaller style but usually ships with a plastic adapter.
