Demo review of Pivot Trailcat SL

I’m currently riding a 2024 Pivot Trail 429 “Enduro” version. My second 429 which I love.

Demo’d a new Pivot Trailcat SL at the Cyclecraft Pivot demo day.

Comparing it to the 2024 429 it “feels” lighter, climbs a bit better, turns tighter and overall is much more lively.

Very nimble and very easy to throw around on the trail yet stable and very planted on technical decents.

10 out of 10. Would buy.

Pivot guys said they used the suspension from the Mach4 to give it that “poppy” feel. Definitely a great replacement for the 429.

@Ashcor where do you ride generally? I am looking at a Trailcat SL. I just not sure if it’s “enough” bike for NNJ to be honest. Not a jumper but I love techy single track and plowing rocky lines on the downs.

I’ve been on a T429 enduro (140/120) for a year. This is my second FS bike, so take it FWIW, but as someone who also doesn’t jump I don’t feel like a need any more travel. No issues plowing down the techy stuff, this thing loves it.
