Did Anyone Notice How many Cyclists?

I'm thinking that whoever called her to pick them up explained it all over the phone? She was definitely going for the power play. Good for the officers for not falling for it!

I love how she stated the police decided to impound the vehicle. No mention of driving with no registration and insurance.

9W is nice in parts and many of the surrounding roads are pretty good given the population density. You can ride up to Bear Mountain along the river and climb Perkins Memorial Drive which is 1,000 feet above the river. Good climb and great views. Too far from me now.

Are they even allowed to tell her why they pulled over someone and gave them a ticket?

How much of their professionalness was based on the cameras rolling? No camera they could (justifiably) tell her to GFY, but with the cameras rolling it's better to just act professional, by the book and let her dig her own grave.

She released a statement. In it she took no blame, put it all on the officers for ruining her weekend. She fits right in with Port Authority management.

1. There is no confidentiality, so yes they are. But the daughter is an adult so they don't have to. Had she conducted herself like a human being I am sure they would have told her. She could OPRA request the info anyway as all stops and police contacts are public record.

2. Probably 99% of it comes from cameras. No camera and things would have been different. Cameras are good...for the public, cops, and the tax-paying public. I have had to adjust how I do my job over 20 years; there's nothing wrong or sinister about it. It's the world we live in now. In 1960 she probably would have swallowed her teeth for such actions. Constantly improving, right??

3. I'm sure the cops involved giggled about her resignation and her bullshit statement. Hell I did. They know who really won this encounter.

In the short version I counted thirteen? The first one looks like they are in orange and blue.

I drive up that way pretty often and it feels like there's more road riders just out on a regular ride than what shows up to organized events. It's crazy.

I used to ride on Rt9 when i was in Hoboken, not bad where theres a full car width shoulder, but where there isnt its sketchy as hell.

An appointed volunteer position and she gets a little tiny gold badge. There's something wrong with that. It's like they encourage these people to do this stuff.
