has anyone had their driveway patched/crack filled/sealed? ours is looking kinda rough and it seems like this would be a good way to spruce up the house a bit for a relatively small investment so looking for some recomendations.

working in Union County.

Yea trying to decide if the time investment is worth the savings so going to get quotes even if we do it ourselves. Ours is also going to be a bit more involved than just spread sealant as we have some patches and stains that need to be dealt with.

@Matt_ will definitely take you up on that.

Don't have pictures but I also had a bunch of cracks to fill. Some were small enough for liquid filler, others needed the patch/tamp. And those typically need to be done at least 48 hours before sealing.

The biggest issue doing it yourself is finding the time when the weather is right.

We did ours a few years ago before we downsized. House had half-circle driveway and a large area in front of the three car garage. Cost was $1,300 including some minor patching and crack sealing. I’d done it myself at a prior (smaller home/driveway) and was easy enough, just tricky to find a weather window (no rain for a few days, not too hot, not too cold, no leaves falling, etc). I used MSeal in Morristown. Guy is a bit particular but does good work that lasts.

I recently got a quote for mine and it was fairly inexpensive. Planning to pay someone because for me it would be an all day job.

my parents had the same experience, the markup to have someone do it for them was minimal vs the cost of supplies, unfortunately the guy they used doesnt exist anymore

I liked the results of the tar cords that you have to melt with a torch. Mine is too far gone and we're going to have it repaved next year after the masonry work gets done on the stairs and retaining wall adjacent to the driveway
