Electric Bike Burnouts at Sixmile

My theory about motos in Bredan Byrne is riding there helps keep the fire cuts open. I'd like to try riding mtn bikes there again as I remember those fire cuts being like an endless pump track thanks to the moto whoops.
Funny you say that. I live near Colliers Mills and in the north section there is a lot of whooped out singletrack the local kids ride moto on. When the sand firms up in the winter, its ridable on mtb and there is a wider doubletrack trail that has a long, gradual dh slope that you can pump the whole length of it. My and a buddy had a race, him just pedaling and me just pumping the rollers and you could pump them faster than seated pedaling. Its fun the but the "sea of whoops" is a little monotonous after a while.

The right answer is to give them their own playground -
so much stuff we ride started as old moto trails.

such a shame the legal environment will not allow this.
Agreed...
And also in fact there really is no reason to have some specific shared trails. PA, CO and other states have shared moto/mtb trails. There will always be those who ride irresponsibly, doesn't matter what two wheeled vehicle they are riding. To just blanket the moto side, is silly.

problem is that rules exist for those that a) don't give a f**k b) don't know any better c) so the government can make money out of them.

You can't always plan for the best case scenario, nor the worst one. Maybe somewhere in the middle there's a solution...

And I'm quite certain that even if there were specific spaces for moto/quads some would still elect to ride parks illegally because of the convenience of being behind their backyard, and lack of accountability would compounds the issue (as it does)

Yeah, it's called freewill. LOL! if you want to stop what you don't like or anyone doesn't like you'd have to implement a Police State. I'd rather live in a Free or semi free society and take the good with the bad consequences. That's life...:smh:
You cannot really control other people through paper laws designed to only extract money and extort them.
The world is chaotic it's always been and will continue to be so.

Did you join so you could justify the damage (e)motos do to the trail systems?

Sure, we can claim it is the person acting irresponsibly, and since they run from the cops, they know it and were prepared to evade.

We self police through education here. We get on people for rutting up trails in the mud, or freeze-thaw. They might respond that it is a public park, but their friends get them to stop eventually.

There are approx 10 core volunteers from this community that tend to 6MR and many more contributors. Not rangers, occasionally park maintenance.

Rip up the bridal paths and fire cuts. There are plenty. Find a park with fire roads.

There is way too much to do before repairing unnecessary gouges because someone wants to rooster

No problem with free will. We'll see you at the next TM section to fix all the damage caused. Plan ahead, it's probably a 4 mile hike carrying the shovels, picks, etc. Bring extra snacks and water. We'll be lucky to get all the damage in one session, plan on going out mutliple weekends.
