Fox 34 or Pike

Looking for some recommendations on a fork upgrade. I've been riding mostly High Mountain Park this year on my SC Tallboy 1st gen equipped with a 120mm Reba fork, but feel like I want something more trail-ish up front given the terrain. I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about a Pike and it seems like the new Fox 34 could be just as good. Does anyone have an opinion either way? What about travel? Any TB owners configure anything over 120mm?

anybody get their hands on a Charger 2 Pike? getting glowing reviews and seems like the fork to get this year

My 2016 150 Pike RCT3 rides great in wide-open mode all the time (up, down, flat) only minor complaint is an annoying creaking that I believe is coming from the area where the steerer tube meets the fork crown. Googled solutions led me to a semi-obscure formula of Loc-Tite to solve the creak. Worked for a while but it's creaking again. This is not uncommon with Pikes, according to the interweb.

just put a pike rct3 on my tallboy 3 , its awesome always had pikes in the past and always pretty reliable . the fox 34 that came on the tallboy kept getting air trapped in the lowers witch would cause very harsh ride . Now with the new version pikes coming out you can find older versions on the cheap
