Going Long and Hard.

Great, I just installed gravel kings on my el gravelachi…needless to say, the day after and they’re flat!

Dont listen to him bro. Panaracer’s are fine he’s just upset cause he couldn’t have those RH, which is understandable.

All these small bougie tire companies go running to Panaracer anyway to get their tires made.

This is correct. The Rene Herse are made by Panaracer, and yet they are flawless. This is kind of like Giant making good bikes for everyone but themselves.

Or, I have have to not ride through Middlesex because that whole town is covered in glass and nails.

I hear that with each set of RH you get an an outfit like this though, worth every penny!

Flat panaracers > Pathfinders

Cause fuck being uniformed.

Schweet!

Nigel just renewed my number. Some of NJ dates don’t line up for me so im going to do some PA events. Have you ever done any rides with them?

I've done both series. It's a lot of the same folks between the two so after a couple you'll know everyone. I'll put the schedule in my Calendar, right now it's filled with NJ and the 600ks from the different regions. It's a PBP Qualifying Year.

Also, the times are about 2 hours slower than NJ. I set a bunch of FKTs last year in PA all over 8.5 hours.

After 3 flats in 3 rides I decided to remove the Gravel Kings in favor of, literally anything else 🤣

Being that there's a Brevet in 2 weeks and CTC at the end of the month, I set the bike up in a more reliable Rando-Mode. 32c Roubaix tires that I ran all last year, plus I rebuilt the front wheel with my Shutter Precision hub. That's really for CTC but I was there so, why not? I'll more than likely run my lightest setup for the 20th Anniversary 200K because it's real climby and I think I can get this bike under 15lbs.

18.5lbs with this getup...Tell me that ain't an Aethos.

What’s with the largest cog on the cassette? That’s not oil slick!

This is just crazy, assuming the bike feels really good and confidence-inspiring? Keep in mind I'm 6'4"/226lbs, so my mindset has never been overall weight.

Back in 2007 I picked up an older Schwinn mini-BMX for my son, aluminum frame & fork, and it weighed 11lbs.

In the road bike world 14lbs has been pretty common for a while now. Any S-Works anything is 14lbs. I built 2 sub 13lb Aethos's (Aethosi?) last year. What's absurd is getting an off-road capable bike down to that area. It really pushes the line of where one starts and the other ends. Gone are the days of having to trudge around on a Diverge that weighs more than a 29er with 1/4 the capability.
