good guy down - send thoughts and prayers

heads up. Stephen's jorba rep and trail maintenance maniac Steve Filipponi is down, and in a tough spot. last week crashed hard in Allamuchy North. Over the bars and his body got spun around and slammed his upper back into tree. Hiked out for 2.5 miles in 2 hours, it was tough march. ER that night found the 4 cracked ribs. Went back to hospital last Sunday to find his lung partially collapsed. chest tube and a few days in hospital. Got out Friday AM, but had to go right back to ER today.. A pulmonary Embolism (blot clot in lung). Damn, Most likely due to being bed ridden for several days. In ICU for at least a few days, and likely heading toward a long recovery. In Saint Claires Dover. Give thoughts and prayers to Steve, his wife Nancy, and his kids. He has done so much for us in trail builds and maintenance. Lets hope he can get back out there ASAP
 
Sorry to hear
Steve has built some amazing trails in SSP
Now we the locals need to pick him up
By hitting the brush back of over growth.
 
Wow that is a bummer... Been enjoying steves work for years... Get well soon!
 
Sorry to hear Steve. Like trail building, there are no shortcuts to recovery. Stick to the plan. Reinforce the "at risk" areas where necessary and stay the course. Rouge paths just detract from the journey... And remember, obstacles are not impediments, only challenges to be overcome.

This is a rough one. These are some of the best trails around and honestly I've been targeting my return to riding to include a trip there shortly.

Get well soon and get back out moving dirt asap!
