Group Ride Sunday 12/11 Hartshorne 9am

@ChrisG Thanks for the ride. Awesome loop with a solid group.

Great ride today, the conditions were perfect, and the weather smiled upon us today, it started coming down just as I was pulling out of the lot.
Also a big thanks to Don and Dom, I am not sure if they are on the board or if they are what their user names are, but I went down really hard and they waited for me and made sure that I was ok.

A few quick ones from the ride. My buddy Dominic and I were tailgunning Iggy's group. The only ride photo was going up the last climb at Huber. Maybe on the next one I'll go ahead and get some video on a fun section that would show up well.

So good to have gotten a few hours in before the precip. The weather that came in the afternoon was awful.

Great to see @ChrisG @rottin' again and of course the other TM'ers: @knobbyhead and @smann and Brian

After knowing @jdog online for like 10+ years (maybe since MTBR and Ridemonkey days?) it was awesome to finally meet in person!

And figuring out @Ryan.P was in our group after seeing that long ass wheelie with a transition from the Rocky Point paved road to Questa Ridge - rad as hell!

A Hell Yeah to the hiker the hiker on Grand Tour connector that said our group looked like pedal bike version of the Pagan's lol - he said he had a friend of a friend that was in the actual Pagans and was doing time - add to the list of characters I've met in Hartshorne.

Thanks @pooriggy for putting together

Ah - yeah Dom and I were a little concerned but we've seen some shit like ko's and broken stuff (had to wheel Dom out of some woods one time in a wheelbarrow) and for the most part you seemed good - maybe just shooken up?

Did you end up seeing any marks on your helmet when you got home? Sounded like a gnarly spill. That descent where it happened is chunky!

I made it... Late. Parked at Huber and passed a group going to Huber as I went to find the other groups. I found the intermediate group. Thanks for letting me flit in and out. Don. Nice to meet you.

Next time I'll make it on time so I don't experience a full lot and blindly chasing.

Got out of dodge as the rain hit.

Happy holidays.
Eric

Eric - what bike were you on? Clay pit was full when I pulled in at 8:45 and I parked down the street too.

Oh - and good move Iggy to do a quick lap at Huber to spread things out. While I hike it 3-4x a week I haven't ridden Huber in a couple of years. Forgot how short and sweet that place is!

I can't seem to find a single mark or even a scratch on my helmet, pretty strange, yeah it was a pretty gnarly spill, I broke my computer mount and have some good bruises, but hopefully I'll be ok.
It is a chunky descent, funny thing is, the reason I crashed is beacuse there was a runner coming up so I wanted to let him pass, but I must have hit the brakes right at big root or drop and just went airborne. thanks again for waiting, hopefully I didn't slow you guys down too much

Great group today! Thanks for helping lead our party @smann ! Great to ride with @qclabrat @serviceguy @thegock Cole, Tracy and Joe. We lost a few along the way but had a great day.

Thank you and @smann for the lead, it was a good time, it felt good to be back on a trail after this long, even if I had to walk a little...I enjoyed the flowy downhill, well worth the climbs. I did not remember this park to be that fun, great work by the trail crew.

Thank you ride leaders for helping out today. @smann @knobbyhead @rottin' @Tony Fontana(what's your user name?) @ChrisG @Mitch @Iggy. These are the folks who keep the groups flowing.

Everything worked our well, the rain held off, the park was not too crowded and a lot of folks enjoyed a group ride.

The monthly ride series will keep going over the winter, we don't put bikes away, well maybe if it snows, then we xc ski.

Enjoy the holidays and stay tuned in for January's ride. Don't worry about the cold, log on and ask about winter shoes and gloves. All the useless & valuable info is available if you axe.

Pre- ride photo.

Iggy and mtbnj, thank you for organizing another great ride. This was my first time at Hartshorne and this ride was a great way to get a taste of it. Great trail building going on there.
