Halter's Cycles -- (31/31) 2018 Edition .. RIDE 1hr a day, EVERY DAY for the month of July.. Win $100!!

Well folks the road ends here for me tomorrow most likely will be a day missed. Since this challenge started I've lost about 12 pounds. Thanks to halter('s) for putting this challenge together and motivating me to get out there and ride, and thanks to my wife for letting me skip out on somethings to let me compete.

Today's ride sucked donkey shit I was eat alive by flies did more hiking then biking out of lack of motivation and I bent a crank arm or pedal so I gonna order either a whole slx group set or the sram eagle nx group set to settle my rear derailleur issues and my crank issues. Who knows I might just toss it in my bench vice and get it straightened.

Best of luck to those who are still in it.

Nothing in the rules says you can’t drop the seat and just scooter pedal it around for an hour😉 ..... glass half full. 🙂

At least you thought of a good name for a ride. When it's time for me to name a ride on Strava my mind goes blank.

Sometimes I think of something amusing... at least amusing to me... usually it's just whatever comes to mind.

After 4 work morning 4:30 am rides in a row (Tu-Fr), I was hoping to do a "normal" after work ride tomorrow. But I'm looking at running by a dealer and trading in for a new minivan, so Monday looks like an early one after all. Unless I decide to go van shopping on Tuesday instead.

Should have came out to CR.
Was a good ride with easy pace along with good burgers at the end. Would have been better with your hot sauce.

My buddy asked me to do Dickerson tomorrow after work so if he shows up I'm still in it but I'm not going to make the effort to go out riding like I've been doing. No more rides ending at 1150pm in the rain because I had dishes or laundry to fold.

I may have went over a tad this weekend...

Saturday.

Still in it. Day 14 was a complete mess, wrong bike, wrong riding buddy. Got some good photos though.

Day 15 replaced my shifter and then did the local loop. Going to have to do some MTB'ing this week.
To the inside of either of my kneecaps is hurting, what does that mean?

Then Friday the 13th showed me what it’s all about. On fridays we play volleyball with my daughters, friend’s parents. I got set up and was going to tip one over the net when dude man on the other team gets crazy and runs right into me. Knee to knee. He was about 240 and I’m 165. I lost. Fractured tibial plateau. Surgery tomorrow after meeting with the surgeon today. Going to be atleast 12 weeks out.

This has been an amazing challenge to take part in and I will definitely be trying it again next year. Best of luck to everyone doing it

DUDE!

i'm so sorry to see this happen. I have a lot to say about this particular injury, recovery, the help you are about to need and keeping sane. Lets chat this week. call me anytime.

I have a good PT guy, very near to where you live as well.

Rain derailed my 6MR plans this morning, but the sun came out and saved a day of riding.

How's everyone's legs with no rest? I've been foam rolling and it's been helping.

@Strugglebus heal up man.

@rlb main street never looked so nice. Bummer about missing the ride.

Day 15 - made the unwise decision to race the Sugarbush Enduro after four solid days of DH. Yesterday during the preride I rode everything clean and fast. I rode the two double blacks stages three times each and scoped out the lines. Felt awesome! Today landed on my ass twice on stage 1 and was a HOT MESS the rest of the day. Even my Strava ends part way though stage 4 when I went OTB. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

I don’t race with my phone so no photos. Actually I did get one bad shot of my son finishing his race. Plus I let my Garmin run, so no I didn’t climb 5000 ft!

Day 13 we went out on the road again, for 1:40ish. This time we finished well after dark. Rolled through Somerville at the end to see if any cool cars were still there.

Day 14 we found it tough to fit in the hour, but we threw the cross bikes on the car and went out for a night ride through Waretown and Barnegat. Got in 1:02. Did some bike handling drills around parking blocks near a small beach. Finally remembered to take a pic...

Day 15 we rode Columbia Trail end to end. It was pretty humid compared to last nights ride. Rode for 2:32... longest ride so far. Forgot to take a pic... again.
