wow, no love for Hartshorne? Sorry I can't make this ride and BBQ. I am getting a big tooth pulled the night before and they strictly forbid me to go riding the next day.

Mare-

I'm sure you thought of this already and have your reasons but just in case....Hartshorne is really crowded in the summer. At 9am you'll be running into a lot of people throughout the ride. I feel like people are a bit more tolerant of 2 or 3 bikes rather than 6-10. I love to ride as fast as I can and I've found EARLY morning it's less crowded and crowded with other athletes not the "elderly" walkers you'll encounter mid morning.

If 9am is a must, please insist that everyone be polite, curteous, and not get bikers kicked out (which I know is probably the farthest thing from your intent, your jorba, I get that).

Thanks-

I am in.

I can bring whatever is needed. Chips (Scoops) and Salsa sound good? Anything let me know.

Last year we did it at this time and while people were surprised to see so many people, we actually had pleasant encounters with other folks (JORBA folks are inherently friendly, right?) Well, most of us are 🙂 Thanks for your concern though and we will not do anything to jeopardize bikers in the park.

Mare, please read the email I sent you. I tried to post it here 4 times, and each time it told me I wasn't signed in. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong! Aggghhh! lol!

Hi Mare.
Nancy and I will be there for the ride but not sure if we can make it to the BBQ. We are going to try.

Got it, Sue. Thank you! Most of you know, but for those of you that don't, Sue is our gracious hostess. I will update the post at the beginning listing what we are brining, but here is what she has to say:

Everyone should bring a towel and swimsuit
If you have one, bring a beach chair...I have about 12 but we'll probably need more.
We'll have some beer, but if someone has a favorite, BYOB.
We have the "beer fridge" in the garage, and plenty of coolers with ice.
NOT including the items that you and other people have already said they are bringing, I will be providing:

chip, pretzels & onion dip ;
tomatoes & mozzarella ;
cold shrimp platter ;
hot dogs & buns ;
southwestern eggrolls ;
chicken legs & wings ;
sweet & sour meatballs ;
pasta salad ;
honey maple beans ;
cheesecake ;
fruit salad ;
soda/flavored water

I've got all the paper goods, plasticware and condiments covered, too.

Susan rules!!! Is that bangin' cheesecake?

Thank you Sue and Brian for being incredibly generous and gracious hosts again this year. We had a great time at your home last year, and we are looking forward to another great time again this year.
