Hey guys, My name is Dominik. I never knew the community ran this deep. I am so happy I found this forum. Now I am new to MTB but I raced BMX for ten years. I stopped when I was about 21 and realized there was no career in riding a childs bike. Well a career, home and wife later, I really miss the two wheels. I purchased a 2010 Motobecane FLY Pro and am ready to rock. I am getting sick of riding with the wife around town and want to tear into a few trails.

I live in Union and was wondering about good beginner trails around me. Anyone else live around Union wanna go for a ride?

Welcome to mtbnj. Which Union do you live in, there are 2 in NJ. Assuming you are talking about the one in Hunterdon, you live close to Round Valley, but i really wouldn't consider that place beginner, unless you like a lot of climbing.

You are about 30 mins from Chimney Rock which would be a good bet.

Take a look at the trail directory in the nav area on the site to get a better idea. there are good descriptions on whether places are beginner, intermediate, etc...

If you are in Union county go check out Lewis Morris...

Welcome!

1) Six Mile run - No rocks, little to no roots. Great flow! A very fun place to ride no matter what skill level. No climbs over 1 minute. 40 minutes south.

2) Lewis Morris Park - Few rocks, lots of roots. A few small climbs. 30-40minutes north.

3) Chimney Rock - Rocks, some roots. Longer optional climbs. There are 5 trails and each one is different. 30-40 minutes west.
