Hoboken - Looking for close riding area

Just picked up a bike along with my wife, took a realllly long break after moving back east (lived in UT for two years and VT for three). Anyways we hit six mile this past weekend which was great. Wondering if there are any closer trails. Thanks for you help.

Great link, thanks for sharing. The idea of crossing two bridges/ tunnels scares the crap out of me, haha... Traffic could take hours! There are suppose to be some good trails in Fort Lee, NJ off 9W as well. Looking into that.
 
if you are going to do that - check with mattybfat or Liong -
park in ft lee - ride across the gw bridge, pick up the greenway north,
to inwood hill park - that is an adventure!

You want to stay off the Palisades Interstate Park trails (along the cliffs) .. the authorities mean business. But there's some stuff in Alpine/Rockleigh that is good for riding.
 
I meant Alpine, sorry. I heard past the Japanese restaurant there are trails. Any details from riders here?

I live in Hoboken too and the shortest drive to LEGAL riding is Chimney Rock, but only by like 10 minutes maybe. 6Mile, Sourlands, or any of the north jersey trails are all about the same drive time so at least you can check out lots of places.
 
That's sounds bout right and more. Timmy will show u around. He knows it very well. Great riding too. Techy as hell
 
I also live in Jersey City and recently got a new bike. I rode Six Mile Run last Saturday and had a blast. I'm thinking about trying out Chimney Rock Trail in Martinsville, New Jersey on Saturday or Sunday.

Anyone interested in riding with me?
 
I will be at Chimney for the first time Saturday morning at 9am. PM me if interested in meeting up.

Jolly , my only question after living in UT and VT why in the heck are you now in NJ ? These are def my 1 and 2 retirement choice states. I hear ya on crossing bridges and tunnels , no need. If you like Chimney Rock you would also like Allumuchy North and Mahlon Dickerson among others. Each is about 15 more minutes than Chimney, but worth it. Wlee, I would like to know more about some Montclair riding. I know my father used to ride around the Freaks Peak area or whatever it's really called . It would be nice to ride 5 minutes away after work a few times.
