Hell of Hunterdon reg opens today at 7pm. I still have my credit from the cancelled 2020 event so I’m in.

I love the course, but will be away for the event. I'll probably be riding the course at least 2 random times this year.

It's like 80% road now so you'll be fine except for the few spots where you'll die.
Fun
Yes, just a tire that isn’t super delicate. There is really only one spot that is rough and I actually need to check to see if they still included it.
I always use gatorskins. I flatted at battenkill on tubulars, never playing tire roulette again.

So you are in luck, they took out the worse section, which was at the bottom of Hunter Road, which was an old farm road. It really wasn’t that bad. Mercer county closed this to the public and a bridge is out. Also, they have you going down the the steepest dirt section, Berry Road (which was always up). So gatorskin should be fine.

I’ve done this event 4-5 times on a road bike with 25s and been fine. I prefer the gatorskins for this event each time.

If @stb222 is right and they took out that death downhill section you should be good.

In. 25 gatorskins. Since they have zero additional miles from last year.

I couldn't get my coupon code to work. Hmmm

Climbs look steep from the profile. Might have to throw on the compact crankset.
What do you run now? There are very few steep climbs on this route, the top of rileyville, pine road and the top of Wilson, hopewell
Amwell road and the small ramp at the top of Lindbergh. Pine road is probably the worst at maybe 13%. All in all, there isn’t much hell on the course as they go around the hardest stuff.

Standard road gearing 53/39 with 11-25 cassette. But I have a compact crankset buried somewhere.

I just looked at the elevation profile and it looked steep on paper.
