On my 2nd lap during the Cat 1 race I came upon Mike from Team Bulldog who was badly hurt. I turned around and raced back to get the paramedics and went back to wait along with some other riders until they arrived. I'm hoping someone has some info on how he's doing, please let us know. Thanks.

Hey Guillaume, from Ryan:

On another note the last official word about Mike Kucharski is that he had a pretty bad laceration to his hip that resulted in a good amount of blood loss and a broken pelvis. He's going into surgery shortly to repair it. Send all of your good vibes his way. He's going to need it.

Thanks, Joe. Hopefully you guys will keep us updated on any developments. Really feel for the guy and am definitely sending good vibes...

Guillaume - You are a good samaritan to turn around and come back to the scorers tent. Sound like he is pretty banged up. We wish him all the best.

Thanks Chris - I'm sure any of us would have done the same thing and I have to give credit to Mark from Bethel Cycles (I think) who stayed with Mike while I went to get help.

I just got a text. He's just being rolled down the hallway into surgery as I type this. Keep him in your thoughts.

Thanks for the update Ryan. He looked real banged up when they brought him down. Jim helped the EMT's slow down the bleeding. It looked pretty bad. Glad the hospital is so close. My kids, who saw as him laying there covered in blood, said a prayer for him. Lets us know how the surgery goes.

Thanks for helping Guilaume, I sent you a PM. Also, does anyone know the name of the "shirt donator" who was on the scene?

Thanks guys for all the help yesterday and keeping me in your thoughts.

I am at Westchester Medical Center.

I broke my left pelvis wing. I will have my final surgery Wednesday morning and they will clean the area again and determine if I need screws or not.

The doctor sounds positive with everything, and there no internal organ damage, just the bone.

Mike, rest easy and get well soon! If they use screws make sure they are titanium. You'll save weight that way.

Mike, You've got good carma sent your way to last a long time. You've met your quota for injuries. No more !! Heal fast.🙂
