I couldn't walk unsupported 4 weeks ago and still didn't have the need for a motor.

Coming to the Dark Side... After 3 bouts of COVID, and a round of long COVID (which is why you haven't seen much of me at Allaire, or Clayton) I just get too winded even during a short ride but I want to keep riding... so.... time to decide on an e-ride (unless someone has a decent e-ride up for grabs)...

Stay in the Polygon camp, and go new..

Go Giant..

Get Intense..

or go Specialized..

The Levos posted are used, which I’m not sure if you’re just showing the model, or considering used? I’d suggest against used just because you want a Warranty buying an E-Bike for when they break. Not “if” they break.

Yes, I was considering them. Opted to go with the Giant. I have a couple of sources for parts, and given time I'll have an entire kit of spare electronics including the motor which I would do anyway even if the bike were new. Spent most of my career working mission critical jobs where had spares for our spares. Most of my current spare parts on hand will transfer over to the Giant, and since I can't wrench on project cars anymore I gotta have something to tinker with. Plus at work I have a complete electronics workbench so I can do surface mount soldering, and logic probing(as long as I do it on my time). As long I have access to spares I'm good. Plus I drive a used Jeep (Just Empty Every Pocket), I'm used to it.

No offense but specialized suspension is not progressive enough and needs shocks with crazy ramp up. That’s what the gini shock is. The new Brose Is a good drive unit and seems to be more reliable than older units. The giant bikes have Yamaha drives and they are super reliable. They also have a small Q factor and mounting holes for a bash guard ( very rare). I would get the reign. You might want to add the new trek alloy rails to your list, they have the new Bosch units and have great suspension.

My name is Bender. This is my warm up line.

New bike day!

Yeah on a Sunday.. Go Fedex!

Went with the Giant Trance XE 3 Pro 29 on TPC. After reading/watching all the reviews I had a good feeling about the bike, and my intuition for once was correct. Once I got it unboxed and on the stand I noticed the front rotor was bent. Off to REI/Marlton who was to only store in a 25mi radius who had a compatible 203mm rotor (glad I ordered two more) upgrading to a XT rotor. Spent the afternoon adjusting, and swapping. Going up and down the block... For a shakedown rode out to Range 14, and back. Very impressed with the ride, and the pedal assist. Took tomorrow off (mental health day) so off to Allaire.

BTW I think I got a good deal. The bike only has 136mi, and 4 battery cycles. Original battery, and motor. The only thing with the bike is the scratches on the down tube which I can easily take care of.

So stoked!

So I was up at kingdom this past weekend....after doing two laps with my firebird on blackbear with my son I switched to my shuttle LT and towed him up for two more.....I have to say....I did not think I was going to enjoy riding the heavier ebike on a super flowy trail like black bear....especially right after getting off my firebird...There are so many fun things you can gap on that trail...I was totally surprised how enjoyable it was ripping that trail on the shuttle.

Chiming in to say that I rode three Enduro-style parks on my Pivot Shuttle LT in Quebec - and never ran out of fun! The climbs were easy; the downhills were amazing. After getting used to the more power needed to brake, the stability and the get-it factor made every trail feel fricking fun. The e adds just enough oomph to clear every little obstacle well, with time to set up the exit. Rode 25+ miles every day, with 3-4k of climbing, and wasn't dead. The one thing I am not ready to do is jumps or drops, due to the weight. When I went back to my Ripmo at a DH park, it felt small. I really really love my Pivot.
