So, this is not exactly true. Grip = friction and friction force is actually independent of the surface area of the 2 objects contacting one another.

N: normal force

Talking to a wall...I think it all depends on the area you primarily ride. I've found Wildcat absolutely destroys tires compared to other rock-filled destinations like Wayway, Mooch, Mahlon, Sourlands, parts of Ringwood, etc.

You're taking me back to my college "Physics for non-science students" textbook. I've always been into cars and distinctly remember the claim that contrary to popular belief, wider tires don't have more grip, but they do last longer since they spread out the force. Not sure I'm a 100% believer...That's on pavement of course, not dirt, which has a whole bunch of other stuff going on.

Haha. Just replying as the way he named parks with rocks it made it sound like watershed is 6 mile. Probably not a rockier place than the frederick watershed.
