Yeah, she needs some love, nothing over strenuous, just debris clearing and some cutting back here and there. So, look at this as a double opportunity. A chance to educate the young and develop good will for the future of mankind all while building up your karma points. Cmon out, it's a fun crew and a nice way to get familiar with a underappreciated gem.....

Come on out this Saturday 9/15, we can always use an extra set of hands.

We meet at the marina parking lot by the volleyball courts @ 9 am.

You will need to bring a completed volunteer application required by the county. You can get that here:

See ya there!

UPDATE:

This Saturday 9/15, we will be meeting at the East picnic area near the blue trail head because of a large boating event going on at the marina.
see ya there!

Hey Mike I'll be there. Haven't spoken with Mick since we cleared the trees & fixed the bridge on Conover Rd back in early Aug. Heard of any trail damage reports?

Hi Tom,

I haven't been to Mercer for a ride in a month or so but I've heard that there are some trees down on Blue. I'm going to shoot over there tonight for a ride and see what's up. hopefully I'll have time to ride the Blue loop.

See you on Sat!

Oct Mercer TM Thanks

A very good day for the red trail at Mercer
We fixed an erosion problem and created some drainage for a muddy section behind the tennis courts.
Thanks Tom, Rich and Chuck and Mick!
🙂

Hey folks. With Sandy coming to visit... Mick & I went out this morning and anchored down the two bridges that seem to float away. The bridge on blue by Conover Rd and we also did the bridge on the other side of the rowing center. Last year Mick & had to I rescue it...

We staked and roped them to float if the water gets high. They may get a bit out of place but a least they won't move to far (we hope).

Everybody stay safe.. this is gonna be one heck of a storm!

Tom

Post Sandy TM part 2

Great crew we had yesterday at Mercer ! Eleven volunteers for 5 hours cutting and hauling Sandy's devastation off of our trail system We have logged 118 man hours clearing and re-routing the Blue trail on the north side of the lake. We have yet to do the trail from the ponds near the missing bridge to the power lines
If we can muster another group next week we will start on
the south side of the lake!
BIG TM thanks to:
Mike Confenti
Jeff Conklin
Mitch Gold
Frank Harms
Alistair MacLennan

You guys rock!
Hang tight for the next TM. I'll post up as soon as I have info.

Mike,
It's looking like next Sunday @8:30 again
This time at the marina
I hope to get out this week to see what looks like the best bang for the day
I hear the marina to the west picnic area is open
So maybe we try the red trail from the east end to the marina?
