First time teeter totter

Rode the TTF in the Van Nest Tract for the first time last Sunday. Actually first time ever on one of these. Seemed like it would be easy enough, but when I rode up on it the front wheel was nearly off the far end (yikes!!) before it started to drop. Worked out ok but I thought afterward I remember reading somewhere sometime ago one is supposed to wait on the weight transfer? (meaning slow down almost to a stop when you approach the other end and wait for TTF to shift?)

Mercer Trail Conditions 3/23

Rode about 14 miles at mcp today. Rode blue, red, white, and other minor trails. Almost all were in good shape, some soft spots but overall I was surprised at how dried out it was. Looks like some illegal bmx construction turning up in the central area of the park but nothing too extreme.

Wind was a killer as was the fact that its the first time I've been out since Jan. TM done last week looked AMAZING! Thanks to everyone who worked hard to clean up and cut new trails.

Thanks for the props, we did a lot of cleaning up last week with 2 teams. we didn't cut any new trail but I'm glad to hear you found some new stuff to explore 🙂

Conditions were good again this morning besides a few slick corners. Next to no mud but I didn't make it up to Blue.

Get out and ride before the rain/snow. That's going to set us back a few days as far as conditions are concerned.

Rode mercer today, trails were excellent, nice and dry, tacky in some spots but nothing that will cause damage.

alittle disapointed

Well, I was at Mercer two weeks ago with my oldest son. I told him there is a park by him that was my second home from 1990-2000. Alot has changed, I guess there is no more real loop there, the golf course area is off limits?? We used to go by that little green house and go along a few holes there to complete the loop by the damn.
Is this no more? or did I miss something? I have not been there in 12 years or so. I used to rant and rave about this place, I remember the portion of golf course being built, and after riding along it for a bit, you would slip back in again behind that littlle yellow pump house, now no trail to be found..can someone tell me if there is an actual loop there somewhere? I used to have a blast there 10 years ago...after the boat house area it really turns into a mystery trail?? Help somebody!

Haven't been out by the golf course in years but I remember it how you do. There was a couple of nice trail sections over there, then some rooty mud holes as well. They are no more. "Progress"...What can you do?
There is still lots of fun to be had at Mercer.

That's why they make bikes with suspensions 😀

We would have to ask for permission to do re-routes

Or we could use the killer tiller to recover the trail tread
